Hello, my name is Pablo, and I’m an HR professional.

I’ve been an HR professional for some 19 years now. If you consider the fact that a pair of those years were spent serving organizations in the great state of California, I suppose we could round it out to 20. Maybe more. I think that’s fair.

The brave business owners and my HR brothers and sisters in the struggle know what I’m talking about.

In any case, welcome to our site. As you’ve read in our introductory content, we are a boutique HR Consulting Agency, proudly serving Pleasanton, Modesto, Ceres, Riverbank, Salida, Oakdale, Turlock, Hughson and Waterford. I, myself, moved to the area almost 2 years ago from Miami, FL to help raise a family. Well, that and to conduct a study on Hispanic/Latino Entrepreneurship in the Central California Valley. From that study, I intend to continue to write my dissertation in partial completion of the requirements for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Leadership & Education with a concentration in Human Resources Development.

All that really means is that I actually survived the coursework and now, for the icing on the cake, they want me to write a really, really, really long paper (more like a book) on entrepreneurs and the manner in which they and other adults learn, and translate that learning into performance. I’ve been told that even by HR people standards, I’m something of a glutton for punishment. You could call me a masochist. It wouldn’t be the first time.

In reality, I sort of geek out on this stuff. All my career, I’ve been fascinated by people, their motivations, and their amazing performance potential when they find themselves in the right place and working with the right tools and within the right conditions.

I suppose that’s why I started this. Not the blog, the business.

You see, I’ve been very fortunate. Fortunate enough to have worked with and learned from some brilliant people throughout my career. I’ve been able to combine my private sector experience with my academic work to help small businesses create those systems and tools to help inspire their people to realize their potential. As we get to know each other, you’ll see a little more about why certain aspects of my academic work were informed by my business experience and vice-versa. Many of the most memorable and defining of those experiences come from my years working within small businesses. I believe that’s where my fascination with entrepreneurship was born. There’s something amazing about a person or persons banding together and taking that boldest of steps into the marketplace and providing a service or product, lovingly and tenaciously molded from their own (often shared) vision, upon which their dreams, family’s livelihood and fondest hopes for the future hinge.

So you see, I sort of relish people calling me “the HR guy”, irrespective of whatever tone they may use. You see, it’s more than what I do. It’s kinda who I am.

Through this blog, I’ll share articles, thoughts, and ideas that I think you may enjoy, as well as some of my own freelance work. Feel free to drop a note and chime in whenever and wherever you’d like. I do look forward to interacting with you, and hopefully, collaborating with you in a professional capacity, soon. Until then, thanks for reading and I’ll be seeing you, out in our unique and thriving business community, in all the old (and new) familiar places.

A Tu Lado,
